CrownGUARD is a program offering of Carolina Crown and is based out of Atlanta, GA. The program offers young people the opportunity to develop performance qualities in dance and equipment handling while performing and entertaining fans across the country. Participation in the guard takes place with auditions in September and October with ongoing rehearsals and performances on most weekends through April.

 Passion, Heart and Beauty...
CrownGUARD won the hearts of many this past week at the Winter Guard International World Championships in Dayton, Ohio. On Saturday night, they stepped out on the floor of Dayton Arena to perform their 2010 show, “The Last Dance” for the last time. The show, which was about first love, true love, and the nostalgia of love past, drew out of the audience very familiar yet raw emotions. The cream, silver, and sepia colors gave the impression that you were staring into someone’s memory or dream. Their finals performance was full of graceful elegance and pure sophistication. CrownGUARD placed 7th with a score of 92.0, which is the highest finish for the guard in the five years of its existence.
CrownGUARD also set up a booth in the exhibit area. It was an opportunity for alumni, family, and the many fans to congregate and gather information about the many programs that Crown has to offer. Frequently over the weekend people would stop by the booth just to say, “I love their show!” or “CrownGUARD’s show is so beautiful!” Fans also had opportunities to purchase CrownGUARD apparel as well.
As the memory of the 2010 winterguard season fades away, we continue to look forward toward the summer and then on again to another season. If you are interested in auditioning for CrownGUARD or Carolina Crown, please keep watching the website for more information.

Carolina Crown would like to send their best wishes to CrownGUARD and all the winterguards that are competing this weekend in Dayton!
 The first two weeks of April brings warm weather, blooming flowers and the Winter Guard International World Championships! On April 8th - 10th, winter guards all over the world will travel to Dayton, OH to compete for the honor of calling themselves world champions.
CrownGUARD will be among the many competing in the Independent World Class. The CrownGUARD is a four time WGI Independent World Class finalist and the 2009 WGI Nashville Regional Champion.
CrownGUARD's program, “The Last Dance” has made a lasting impression on judges and fans alike this year. The program expresses the universal emotion of the first time you meet your soul mate and the faint ache of reminiscing about love lost. The members and staff of CrownGUARD have been working diligently to make certain that their final performance of the 2010 season is unforgettable: just like the first time.
