2010 CastBLOG #6

Hello Everybody!!

 My name is Brittany Coronado and I am a first year member of the CrownGUARD winterguard! I also marched 2 seasons with the Carolina Crown drum corps in 2007 and 2008 (the pony and mad conductor years :))

 This past weekend (03/13- 03/14) we performed at the Atlanta Regional.

 The past week was very hard for me because I unfortunately lost my grandmother on Wednesday. I was very worried that I would not be able to perform with the group this next weekend. The funeral was Saturday morning and I knew that the only way that I would be able to fully express myself and my feelings, would be through performing Saturday evening with my Crown family.

I drove as fast as I could for 4.5 hrs. on my way to Whitewater HS. There were many times that I thought that I just wasn’t going to make it in time. The whole guard and staff were very supportive and kept calling and checking on me while making the trip.

Luckily I made it there about 10 minutes before we performed! We went on and performed our hearts out and we could all feel the energy and passion, right there on the floor. It was an amazing feeling! We were all there performing for each other and for the audience.

The best thing about our show is that it is truly real and that we are able to put our own hearts, souls, and stories into the show.

This weekend was truly a weekend of discovery and growth and I am so excited for this next weekend in Orlando where we can grow even more.

I just want to say that the members and staff are the most amazing group of people you could possibly want to spend the season with. I am so grateful for each and every one of them. I truly consider them members of my family and I can’t imagine my life without them.
