Hello CrownGUARD fans!

My name is Alexa Ramirez and I am a first year member of the CrownGUARD winterguard! I marched with Carolina Crown Drum Corps in 2006 and 2007. This is my 19^th season marching a color guard but my first time marching with an Independent World winterguard. Let me just start by saying that everyone in CrownGUARD this year is completely fantastic and so talented! I don’t think it would be possible to love each other more than we do. We all have so much fun together! I just adore everyone on the guard and am so happy to have the opportunity to share this season’s experience with all of them.

This past Saturday (1/23/2010) we had our first show at Harrison High School in Kennesaw, Georgia.  We were all really excited and ready to get the first show under our belts! Our uniforms are incredible and beautiful and it was really exciting to have them for our first show! Everyone looked absolutely amazing! As we went through warm up, you could feel the excitement building within the guard. We were the last group to perform and the gym was completely packed. As we walked onto the floor, we all knew we were ready for our first show together. We had an awesome experience performing our show for the first time.  The crowd’s enthusiasm was empowering and made the performance so incredibly enjoyable. We were really happy with what we accomplished on the floor as a group.  I know we have a lot of work to do but I cannot wait until the next show! So far, this winter season has already been an incredible experience and I am so excited to see where the season takes us!
