Carolina Crown is extremely excited to announce the complete 2017 Crown Guard Instructional and Creative Team.
“I am excited about this team and the wide range of expertise they bring to the Crown Guard," said Guard Caption Supervisor, Joey Powell.
Eight members of the team, including Joey himself, are Crown alumni and have performed in the guard. Five instructors, including Joey Powell, Rick Subel, Andria Foerch, Michael Floyd, and Erin England, have also been on the Crown Guard staff in past years.
Carolina Crown is extremely excited to announce the complete 2017 Crown Percussion Team. “Having the majority of the team return will insure that the continued development of the most recent years remains a priority for this award wining music ensemble," said Crown Executive Director, Jim Coates.
Crown Percussion Leaders Thom Hannum, Jim Ancona and Travis Peterman will be joined by returning battery staff members Sean McElroy, Andrew Rubano, and front ensemble instructors Alex Kluttz, Annie Chernow and Marcus Neudigate. Three new staff members, including Dan Schack, Frank Cummings, and Zach Opdenaker, round out the battery staff.
The winter season has begun with audition camps for both guards and drumlines being across the country this past weekend. Leading those auditions for two programs were new Crown Artistic Coordinator, Rick Subel, and new Crown Percussion Caption Supervisor, Travis Peterman.
Rick Subel founded the Paramount Winterguard of Atlanta, GA, in 2011, and the program has grown into a powerhouse in Winter Guard International, expanding over the years to include three different guards. At the 2016 WGI Championships in Dayton, Ohio, the Paramount World Guard placed 5th and the Paramount A Guard placed 1st.
