A Relentless Three-Way Standoff with the Bluecoats and Devils Fitting Conclusion for 2016 Season
With only three weeks to go, Crown is performing at the highest level and 'Relentlessly' wowing fans across the country.
Last Thursday, after a three week midwestern tour, Crown headed deep into the heart of Texas--fitting for them as they perform their Spaghetti Western-themed show, Relentless. Stops in Denton and Houston dotted the corps' path as they made their way to the first DCI regional of the season. And the showdown in West Texas, in the San Antonio Alamodome, did not disappoint. After performing in front of a record crowd of over 14,000 fans, Crown, Bluecoats and Blue Devils all finished within a point of one another.
Crown's show features thematic material and music from the Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Western "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly." Reminiscent of the iconic Mexican standoff featured at the end of this classic movie, these three corps will make their way east this week, through Mississippi and Tennessee, before squaring off again this Saturday at the DCI Southeastern Regional in Atlanta.
Following the Atlanta show, Crown will head toward North Carolina and their home show, NightNEAT
, to be held on Sunday, July 31, at BB&T Field
in Winston-Salem, NC. Fans should be prepared to have their faces melted off as eight of the world's top corps fill this world class outdoor venue with the ultimate in sound and sight.
Fans will also be treated to a must see pre-show event featuring The Voice
Finalist and Durham, NC native, Katie Basden.
In addition, The Marine Drum and Bugle Corps
will be there to entertain fans for the second year in a row.
community outreach program will also be partnering with Samaritans Feet
and Love Out Loud
of Winston-Salem to provide shoes, socks and a message of hope to a thousand needy young people from the community.
